Richard Trevillian is a Ninth Degree Black Belt in Isshinryu Karate with over 55 years of committed training and teaching. He honed his skills for more than 25 years under the esteemed Master Allen Wheeler, upholding a rich tradition of discipline, knowledge, and respect within traditional martial arts. Alongside his karate mastery, Richard has practiced the Yang Style Short Form of Tai Chi for over 25 years, skillfully integrating its internal principles of balance, flow, and mindfulness with the direct, powerful techniques of Isshinryu Karate. This rare fusion offers his students a comprehensive martial arts experience that harmonizes body, mind, and spirit.
In 2000, Richard earned the title of Instructor of the Year from the World Martial Arts Hall of Fame, recognized for his exceptional talent in making complex martial arts concepts accessible and practical. His diverse student base ranges from competitive martial artists to professionals in high-precision disciplines like nuclear engineering. His personal experience includes competing in and surviving bare-knuckle knockout karate matches, showcasing his toughness and dedication to the true martial arts spirit.
